There’s a very cool new restaurant booking app on the scene, and there’s more to it than meets the eye. ChariTable Bookings, available on iPhone and Android, gives £1 to charity with every booking made.
It’s a beautifully simple process that comes at no cost to the customer. Each diner who attends a booking made through the app will be able to choose which of the 3,000 participating charities to donate their £1 to. This list is rapidly growing, too.
It looks as though this quirky idea born out of generosity won’t run out of steam anytime soon either. Thousands of restaurants across the UK have jumped at the idea, with the likes of London’s rather upmarket The Ivy and The Wolseley also getting in on the act.
The app is free to download and even offers its users loyalty points for each booking made with them. Users can build their point balance and convert them into restaurant vouchers or simply donate them to charity. As if that wasn’t enough, you can keep track of your charitable giving as you go, with the app giving you a running tally on your donations.
this really is a win-win for all involved, with restaurants seeing bookings increase and, of course, charities getting a much needed boost in income. Why not get involved? The ChariTable Bookings app has a ‘near me’ function, meaning you can easily locate a participating restaurant in your immediate area.
CEO and founder David Johnstone commented: “ChariTable Bookings is benefiting restaurants, customers, and charities. The App is an example of how modern technology can be used to support charitable fundraising while also engaging the public at absolutely no cost to themselves.”
