The latest acquisition attempt from Google and most bizarre to date was a bid for the Veggie Burger company ‘Impossible Foods’. The offer came up way short however, in fact the $300 million bid was too small a portion for Impossible Foods to digest.

Impossible Foods who say it’s mission is “give people the great taste and nutritional benefits of foods that come from animals without the negative health and environmental impact.” are developing innovative products that take molecular makeup of meat foods and replicate them with proteins and nutrients into meat free vegetarian alternatives.

The food company makes burgers made from plants that taste like beef with cheese, and is backed by Mircrosoft founder Bill Gates.

Google are investing in many AI and futuristic technology businesses through its Google X department and although to many this acquisition may of seemed a little odd for the search giant it seems there is a buzz around silicon valley for meat free alternatives.
